Google Gemini creator conversations

Google Gemini is no longer competing for attention only inside search results, app stores, or AI benchmark charts.

It is showing up all over Instagram.

A new analysis from influencer intelligence platform Qoruz indicates that Gemini has built a sizeable lead in AI-related creator content across India. ChatGPT remains a major part of the conversation, but Google appears to have spread Gemini across more creators, more content niches, and far more Instagram Reels.

That reach does not look accidental.

Gemini Moves Ahead of ChatGPT in India’s Creator Ecosystem

Qoruz placed both Google Gemini and ChatGPT in the “Leader” section of its analysis, based on creator participation and audience engagement. Still, the distance between the two platforms was difficult to miss.

Gemini generated around 22,900 posts from micro-influencers, compared with approximately 6,800 posts linked to ChatGPT. These are creators with audiences large enough to provide meaningful reach but still small enough to maintain a sense of community and accessibility.

The same pattern appeared among nano-influencers. Gemini recorded roughly 7,600 posts in that segment, while ChatGPT generated about 2,500.

Even at the macro-influencer level, where creator partnerships can become more expensive and polished, Gemini remained ahead. The analysis counted around 6,600 Gemini posts compared with 3,900 for ChatGPT.

This is not a narrow win inside the technology niche. Google has pushed Gemini into everyday creator culture.

Beauty, Fashion and Entertainment Creators Are Talking About Gemini

AI marketing often starts with technology reviewers. That makes sense. They already have audiences interested in software, devices, prompts, and product updates.

Gemini’s Instagram presence has travelled much further.

In Arts and Entertainment, creators published around 11,500 Gemini-related posts. ChatGPT generated approximately 2,800 in the same category. Gemini also appeared in about 5,500 Beauty posts, 4,700 Lifestyle posts, and 4,100 Fashion posts.

Technology and Gadgets remained part of the mix, producing roughly 2,700 Gemini posts. Health and Fitness creators contributed another 2,400.

The numbers suggest Google has successfully presented Gemini as more than a chatbot for developers or office workers. Creators can demonstrate it through outfit planning, beauty ideas, travel preparation, fitness routines, image prompts, study tips, and ordinary daily tasks.

That matters on Instagram. A product becomes easier to understand when people see it inside routines they already recognise.

Instagram Reels Give Gemini Its Biggest Advantage

Gemini’s strongest lead appeared in short-form video.

The Qoruz findings counted approximately 27,800 Instagram Reels related to Gemini. ChatGPT had around 9,100. Gemini also led in carousel content, generating about 7,800 posts compared with ChatGPT’s 3,500.

Reels are a useful format for promoting an AI assistant because creators do not need to explain every technical detail. They can show a prompt, reveal a result, react to it, and move on. The entire demonstration may take less than a minute.

Carousels work differently. They give creators enough room to publish prompt collections, step-by-step tutorials, comparisons, or lists of practical use cases without turning the post into a long technical lesson.

Google appears comfortable using both formats. The volume suggests Gemini is being treated as a visual content product, not merely something people discuss through text.

Micro and Nano-Influencers Are Carrying the Conversation

Celebrity endorsements can produce a burst of visibility. Thousands of smaller creators can make a product feel unavoidable.

Gemini’s lead among micro and nano-influencers points to a wide distribution strategy rather than a campaign built around a small collection of famous faces. That can give Google access to tightly defined communities across education, fashion, productivity, entertainment, food, health, and regional content.

Smaller creators may not deliver millions of views individually. They often speak to audiences that know their style and pay closer attention to their recommendations.

For an AI platform, this can be especially valuable. People may understand that a famous technology personality has been paid to discuss a new tool. A demonstration from a study creator, fitness coach, makeup artist, or small-business owner can feel more practical.

It answers a simpler question: what would an ordinary person actually do with Gemini?

Most AI Creators Still Stick With One Platform

Despite the competition between major AI companies, the creator market does not appear heavily shared.

Gemini and ChatGPT had the largest overlap, with around 1,700 influencers creating content about both platforms. Gemini reportedly shared 439 creators with Claude and 195 with Perplexity.

That leaves plenty of creators discussing only one AI brand.

The separation may reflect campaign agreements, creator preferences, audience expectations, or the simple fact that producing repeated tutorials about several similar tools takes time. Whatever the reason, Google’s position at the centre of these overlaps gives Gemini another advantage.

It can dominate its own creator network while still appearing in comparison content involving rival platforms.

Google Is Marketing Gemini as a Lifestyle Product

Google describes Gemini as an AI assistant that can support writing, planning, brainstorming, research, image-based tasks, and other everyday activities. Its wider product strategy also connects Gemini with Google services and a growing collection of multimodal features.

The creator strategy makes that broad positioning easier to sell.

A traditional advertisement can tell people that Gemini is useful. A creator can show the tool helping prepare for a job interview, plan a holiday, rewrite a caption, explain a school topic, organise a workout, or develop ideas for a Reel.

Some demonstrations will be sponsored. Others may come from creators following a popular content trend. Both increase visibility.

This is where Google’s scale becomes useful. Gemini does not need one universal marketing message when thousands of creators can interpret the product for their own audiences.

ChatGPT Still Has Recognition, but Gemini Has Momentum

ChatGPT remains one of the most recognisable names in generative AI. Qoruz still positioned it as a leader rather than a distant competitor.

Instagram activity, however, tells a more uncomfortable story for OpenAI.

Gemini is producing substantially more creator content across major influencer sizes, content categories, and formats. The difference is particularly sharp in Reels and among micro-influencers, two areas that can quickly turn a new digital tool into a familiar consumer product.

That does not prove Gemini has more active users than ChatGPT. Creator post volume is not the same thing as market share, subscriptions, or long-term loyalty.

It does show who currently controls more of the AI conversation inside India’s Instagram creator ecosystem.

Right now, that platform is Gemini.

AI Competition Is Becoming a Creator Marketing Fight

The battle between AI assistants used to centre on model quality, response speed, pricing, and benchmark scores. Those things still matter. Most consumers will never study a benchmark table, though.

They will see a Reel.

As Gemini, ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity become easier to access, their marketing challenge changes. Simply having an advanced model is no longer enough. AI companies need creators who can make the product understandable, relevant, and worth trying.

Google’s current lead shows what that can look like at scale. It has pushed Gemini beyond technology channels and into the wider Instagram culture, where beauty creators, students, entertainers, fitness accounts, and lifestyle influencers can each find a different reason to mention it.

The next stage will be harder. High content volume can create awareness, but AI brands still need to convert that visibility into regular use.

For now, Google has won something valuable: more creators are putting Gemini in front of the camera.
