Gaming creator marketing still leans heavily on audience size. Bigger creators usually attract bigger budgets, while smaller channels often struggle to get paid opportunities even when their audiences are highly engaged.

Creators.gg wants to change that.

The platform is building a different model for gaming campaigns, one where creators can earn based on how their content performs rather than simply how many followers they have. The idea is straightforward: views, campaign results and audience response should matter more than headline follower numbers.

Creators.gg Is Moving Away From Follower-First Campaigns

Traditional influencer campaigns often begin with reach. Brands look at follower count, average views and overall audience size before deciding who gets selected. That approach makes sense on paper, but it can overlook smaller creators whose audiences are highly relevant to a specific game. Creators.gg is trying to make campaign performance a bigger part of that decision. Instead of assuming that a larger following always means greater marketing value, the platform allows creators to earn based on measurable results generated by their content.

Smaller Gaming Creators Could Gain More Access to Paid Campaigns

The model could be particularly useful for smaller gaming creators who have strong engagement but do not yet have large audiences. Many creators build loyal communities around specific genres such as shooters, strategy games, esports, role-playing titles or indie games. Those communities can be commercially valuable even when the creator’s total follower count remains relatively modest. Creators.gg gives those creators another way to prove their value by showing what their content actually delivers.

Performance-Based Payouts Put More Weight on Actual Views

Creators.gg supports campaigns where compensation can be linked directly to content performance. In some cases, creators earn based on CPM-style payouts, meaning the amount increases as their videos or streams generate more views. This creates a clearer connection between results and earnings. A creator who performs well can potentially earn more regardless of whether they started the campaign with a massive following. That makes the system feel closer to performance advertising than a traditional flat-rate sponsorship.

Creators Can See Campaign Terms Before Taking Part

Another important part of the platform is transparency around campaign terms. Creators can review available opportunities, understand the required deliverables and see what compensation or rewards are being offered before choosing whether to participate. Some campaigns may offer cash payments, while others may include game keys, merchandise, digital rewards or early access. That gives creators more control over which opportunities are worth their time instead of forcing them to negotiate from scratch with every studio.

More Than 10,000 Creators Joined During the Early Stage

Creators.gg already had a substantial creator base before opening more broadly. According to Net Influencer, more than 10,000 creators participated during the platform’s invite-only beta period. Many of those creators initially joined through specific studio programs. That early participation gave Creators.gg a large pool of gaming creators while also allowing the company to test how campaign rewards, objectives and creator participation would work in practice.

The Platform Uses a Gaming-Inspired Reward System

Creators.gg also borrows ideas from gaming itself. Campaigns can include objectives, milestones and rewards that resemble the progression systems found in games. Creators complete specific requirements, generate views or reach campaign targets and then unlock compensation or other benefits. The approach makes the experience feel more familiar to gaming creators than a traditional influencer marketing dashboard built around contracts and invoices.

Creators.gg Wants to Become a Discovery Hub for Gaming Campaigns

The company’s ambitions extend beyond hosting its own campaigns. Creators.gg wants to make it easier for creators to discover gaming partnership opportunities across the industry. Creator programs are often scattered across studio websites, Discord communities, agency portals and private application forms. That fragmentation makes it difficult for smaller creators to know which opportunities are available. A centralized marketplace could make gaming campaigns easier to find and easier to compare.

Game Studios Can Find Creators Who Match Specific Audiences

The platform is also designed to help game studios identify creators who fit particular titles. A large audience does not automatically make someone the right creator for every game. Genre, audience interest and content style often matter just as much. A smaller creator who focuses almost entirely on tactical games, for example, may be a better fit for a new tactical shooter than a much larger general entertainment streamer. Creators.gg is betting that better creator-to-game matching can improve campaign performance for both sides.

Creators May Become More Involved Before Games Launch

Creators.gg also reflects a wider shift in how gaming companies work with online creators. Instead of only bringing creators into campaigns shortly before launch, studios can involve them earlier in the development and testing process. Gaming creators spend large amounts of time interacting with players and watching real-time audience reactions. Their feedback can help developers understand what excites players, where confusion appears and which features generate the most interest before a game reaches the wider market.

Gaming Creators Are Becoming an Important Discovery Channel

Creators already play a major role in how people discover games. A Twitch stream, YouTube video or short-form clip can put a new title in front of millions of potential players without traditional advertising. That influence has become even more important as the number of games competing for attention continues to increase. Creators.gg is positioning creator marketing as part of the discovery process rather than simply treating creators as another advertising placement.

Performance Could Become a Bigger Metric in Creator Marketing

The bigger question is whether gaming brands will continue relying heavily on follower counts or begin putting more emphasis on measurable campaign results. Creators.gg is clearly betting on the second option. If performance-based campaigns become more common, smaller creators could gain access to opportunities that previously went almost exclusively to larger channels. Studios could also get a clearer picture of what they are actually paying for.

For gaming creator marketing, that could gradually shift the conversation away from who has the biggest audience and toward who can genuinely get players interested.
