Forever 21 Names Riley Saurage Brand Ambassador in New Creator-Led Campaign

Forever 21 Riley Saurage campaign

Forever 21 is putting a creator at the center of its latest attempt to reconnect with younger shoppers. The new Forever 21 Riley Saurage campaign is a key example of this strategy.

The fashion retailer has named Riley Saurage as its newest brand ambassador, beginning the partnership with a back-to-school campaign built around affordable wardrobe staples and current fashion trends.

This is not being presented as a one-off sponsored post. Saurage will appear in additional seasonal campaigns and brand events throughout the year, giving Forever 21 a familiar creator face as it rebuilds its presence across online marketplaces.

Riley Saurage Leads Forever 21’s Back-to-School Campaign

The first Forever 21 Riley Saurage campaign features a curated collection of back-to-school clothing designed around trend-driven style and everyday value.

Saurage has built a strong following among Gen Z audiences through fashion, beauty and lifestyle content. That audience fit makes the partnership fairly straightforward. Forever 21 wants to reach young shoppers, while Saurage already speaks to many of them every day through social media.

Instead of relying on a traditional celebrity endorsement, the retailer is working with someone whose influence comes from consistent online content and a closer relationship with followers.

The collection became available on July 17 through Forever21.com, Walmart and Amazon. Forever 21’s own website is also promoting a dedicated Riley Saurage collaboration, showing that the creator partnership has become a visible part of the retailer’s current marketing push.

The Campaign Is the First Under a New Partner Network

The Riley Saurage partnership is reportedly the first campaign launched under Forever 21’s new partner network.

That detail makes the appointment more important than the usual ambassador announcement.

Forever 21 appears to be building a broader system of creators, retail partners and digital platforms rather than concentrating everything around physical stores. The company has described the strategy as a way to meet customers where they already spend their time.

Increasingly, that means social feeds, creator content and large online marketplaces.

A creator can introduce the clothes. Walmart, Amazon or Forever 21 can complete the sale. The distance between discovery and checkout becomes much shorter.

Forever 21 Is Following Its Customers Across Online Marketplaces

The back-to-school collection’s availability across several retailers reflects a wider change in Forever 21’s distribution strategy.

The company has been rebuilding its U.S. business after its former operating company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in March 2025. Rather than returning immediately to the same store-heavy model, Forever 21 is expanding through online sales channels and retail partnerships.

Forever 21 was also recently added to Target Plus, Target’s invite-only online marketplace. The brand joined other names, including Clarks and JanSport, as Target expanded the selection available through its website.

Target Plus allows selected third-party brands to sell through Target’s digital storefront without requiring those products to appear across its physical stores.

For Forever 21, this kind of setup offers wider reach without immediately taking on the cost and risk of another large retail expansion.

It is a much lighter model. List the products where shoppers already browse, use creators to generate attention and let established marketplaces handle more of the customer journey.

Why Riley Saurage Fits the Retailer’s Gen Z Strategy

Forever 21 has long been associated with young shoppers, fast-moving trends and accessible prices. The harder part has been maintaining that relevance as fashion discovery shifts toward TikTok, Instagram and creator-led recommendations.

Riley Saurage gives the brand a more direct route into that environment.

Her involvement adds a recognizable personality to the campaign rather than leaving Forever 21 to communicate through product images and discount banners alone. Followers can see how the pieces look, how they are styled and how they might fit into an everyday wardrobe.

That creator-to-consumer connection is difficult for a traditional advertising campaign to reproduce.

The partnership also gives Forever 21 reusable content. A brand ambassador can appear across social videos, campaign photography, event appearances, seasonal launches and retailer promotions. One relationship can stretch across several marketing channels.

Creator Marketing Is Becoming Part of Retail Distribution

The most interesting part of this campaign is how closely the marketing and distribution strategies are connected.

Forever 21 is not using Riley Saurage simply to build awareness for products sitting inside its own stores. The campaign supports clothing sold across Forever21.com, Walmart and Amazon, with Target Plus adding another digital channel to the company’s broader marketplace strategy.

Creator content brings the audience. Marketplace availability gives that audience several places to buy.

That combination is becoming increasingly useful for brands that want national reach without building or reopening hundreds of physical locations.

It also changes what a brand ambassador is expected to do. The creator is no longer just the face of an advertisement. They become part of the sales infrastructure, helping products move from a social feed to a retailer listing and, hopefully, into a shopping cart.

Forever 21’s Creator Push Comes During a Larger Rebuild

Forever 21 still faces a difficult task. Fashion retail moves quickly, competition is crowded and younger shoppers have more choices than ever.

Naming a creator ambassador will not solve those problems on its own.

Still, the Riley Saurage campaign points toward a more flexible approach. Forever 21 is combining creator influence, marketplace distribution and affordable fashion rather than relying almost entirely on mall traffic.

The company is trying to become easier to find, easier to shop and a little more visible inside Gen Z culture again.

Riley Saurage is the first creator attached to that new partner network. What comes next will show whether Forever 21 is building a lasting creator program or simply testing a new campaign format during its comeback.
