Europe’s Creator Economy Hits 8.64M Monetized Creators

Europe’s creator economy is witnessing unprecedented growth, as a new report reveals that the region now boasts roughly 8.64 million creators who earn money from their work.

According to the quarterly report published by Creator’s Hub, the European creator economy hit an estimated valuation of €28 billion in 2025 and might grow up to €135 billion by 2032.

Europe’s Creator Economy is Experiencing Massive Growth

The report shows that Europe’s creator economy is emerging as one of the fastest-growing sectors of the digital landscape globally.

Experts project that the market is growing at a CAGR of 25.1%. Social media, videos, influencer marketing, subscription communities, and creator-led businesses drive the industry’s development.

The numbers also coincide with predictions about the future growth of the creator economy, which industry analysts estimate can reach over $500 billion over the coming decade.

Youth Fuels The Shift Towards Creators

The growing influence of creators on younger audiences is among the main trends mentioned in the report.

Data cited from the Reuters Institute revealed that about 44% of people aged between 18 and 24 use social media and video platforms as their primary news source. Also, creators are increasingly competing against mainstream media brands.

It appears that people younger than 35 are consuming news and other information created by digital influencers more often than they access the news published by traditional media companies.

Spending on Influencer Marketing Grows

Growing spending on influencer marketing is another sign of the rapid development of the creator economy.

According to the report, global creator advertising reached $37 billion in 2025, marking a 26% growth since last year. The IAB expects that creator ad spend will continue gaining importance as brands treat creators as a distinct marketing channel.

Experts also believe that brands will increasingly allocate budget to micro- and nano-influencers, as companies seek authenticity and niche communities. The projection suggests that almost half of influencer marketing spendings in 2026 will be aimed at smaller creators.

Creators Become Business Owners

As mentioned in the report, creators are becoming more like entrepreneurs than just content creators.

Creators now run teams, build brand relationships, design and sell merchandise, set up agencies, and create various kinds of digital products. The creator economy is seeing an increasing number of startups built on the creators’ talents.

The report highlights the significant rise in M&A deals within the creator economy sector. According to the analysis, there were 81 deals in the creator economy in 2025, and software companies, media, and talent management companies led the trend.

France Is One of the Leading Creator Economies In Europe

France has some of the most detailed statistics regarding the creator economy in Europe.

According to figures provided by BNP Paribas and included in the report, the creator economy in France comprised some 348,000 monetized creators in 2025, which marked a 14.6% growth since last year. The number might grow to about 1.47 million creators in 2032.

There are roughly 1.7 million indirect jobs in the French creator economy in such spheres as agencies, studios, marketing, editing, analytics, and creation of software for creators.

Income Inequality Still Plagues the Creator Economy

While the industry is developing quickly, income inequality still remains a pressing issue inside the creator economy.

According to recent studies, a tiny portion of top creators receives most of the revenue from advertising and sponsorships. While the wealthiest creators can earn millions, a significant part of creators struggles with generating enough income from their activities.

Analysts point out increasing competition, changes in algorithms, and content saturation as reasons why it becomes increasingly challenging for smaller creators to get noticed.

On the other hand, AI software helps streamline the content creation process for many influencers. Recent reports show that creators actively employ generative AI for editing, scripting, thumbnails creation, and automation of production processes.

Conclusion

As seen from the latest report, Europe’s creator economy is reaching a period of exponential growth.

Having over 8.6 million monetized creators, increased investments in influencer marketing, and growing creator-led businesses, the creator economy is establishing itself as a key segment of the European digital landscape.

With further evolution of social media platforms and rising consumption of creator-driven content, the role of the creator economy is expected to expand even more across entertainment, commerce, education, and other areas in the coming decade.
